DIGITISATION

Using OS Mapping or raster images Data Insight will provide a vector equivalent of any hard copy map, backed up with attribute data which is suitable for viewing in any GIS.

TEXT ENTRY

Text from hard copy is entered into databases with single or double entry options. Bespoke software, written by Data Insight, is used for double entry text comparison for maximum accuracy.

MAP SCANNING

We will take your hard copy colour or black and white maps and produce high quality map images suitable for viewing in your GIS or other viewing software.

MAP GEO-REFERENCING

Map images are referenced geographically to match modern vector mapping worldwide. The geo-rectified images can be viewed individually, or as a seamless layer in your GIS.

AERIAL PHOTO RECTIFICATION

Data Insight scan aerial photographs in colour or black and white, reference them to modern vector mapping and trim the images to be viewed as a seamless layer in GIS.

PAI ADJUSTMENT

Client data is assessed, then using OS link files the data is shifted to its new position using ESRI UK's PAI software tools. Following the use of our own AutoSnapper software, the data is manually checked 100% for accuracy prior to a final quality control process.

LLPG PREPARATION

Data Insight use a different approach to others. We believe in the saying, 'a picture paints a thousand words'. Using GIS to classify property addresses by colour has enabled us to produce remarkably accurate yet fast results. Recently working closely with a local authority, Data Insight presented a LLPG to NLPG Hub with only 50 rejections out of 600,000 records in 6 months.

GIS/EDMS LINKING

Data Insight have developed a service that links spatial vector features with their associated scanned documents. The net result is that a user can view a feature in GIS and by simply clicking a button can view all the related images in their EDMS.
