IRISEDMS Software:
Storage & Retrieval

Electronic Document Management Software
IRISEDMS has been created to provide Local Government and Private Sectors with a more
cost-effective solution for Electronic Document Management. Existing EDM software packages tend to be highly expensive because
they provide the user with numerous functions that may never be used.
As a result, the provision of these functions is reflected in the price, with some systems costing in excess of £100,000! Data
Insight have developed an EDMS that better meets the needs of businesses at a far more realistic price! For as little as a tenth of the
cost, IRISEDMS can be installed on every desktop. In addition, because IRISEDMS is a simple product to use, very little training is required
to bring the user to a competent level.
IRISEDMS comprises:
- IRISScan - intelligent scanning software with easy to use - one keystroke control.
- IRISQC - enables the end user to check results of images by individual, batch or random percentage selection.
- IRISView - a sophisticated browser function with variable print options including "best fit" or "original scale" option.

Features include:
- Record Management
- Document Management
- Scanning Software
- Quality Control Software
- Integration with MSOffice
- Links to Uniform and GIS
- Link to AutoCAD
- Measurement Tool
- Annotation Tool
- Fee Calculator

New, useful and unique functions have been built in to make the user's job easier and to save time and money. For
example, there is a Measuring Tool function suitable for users needing to take measurements from plans and drawings. This tool allows the
user not only to calculate the length of an object, but it can also work out its plotted area and volume. It also includes a calibration tool that
takes accurate measurements where the scale of the drawing is unknown and a fee calculator for quick analysis of cost against measurement.
Documents and plans can be taken from various sources and scanned using IRISScan software. The resulting images can be quality checked
using IRISQC. The user decides whether to check 100% of the images, or whether to check a percentage using the random feature. As
the images are checked they are either passed or failed and a final report produced of the results. This is an ideal module for checking the
quality of external contractors' work.
Using IRISView the scanned images can be retrieved from their resident database and viewed on-screen. This can be achieved using the
'Instant Search' facility within IRISView searching windows explorer. Alternatively, the user can find an address or an application
number using ArcGIS, ArcView 3x or MapInfo and then by simply clicking on the spatial feature.
