Microfiche Scanning

Specialist microfiche scanning equipment enables Data Insight to produce a high resolution scan of each image contained on a Microfiche Jacket. All images are produced in an open format that can be viewed in any EDMS, or alternatively viewed in our own IRISEDMS.

Data Insight have carried out numerous projects to scan microfiche containing planning and building control application files, complementing the scanning of hard copy paper files, thereby creating a comprehensive archive solution for planning and building control departments.

Our clients have therefore been able to appreciate the benefit of reducing staff time in researching applications dating back to 1974, and in many cases, 1948, previously held as hard copy files and microfiche jackets.

Aperture Card Scanning

Data Insight specialise in using aperture card scanning equipment which enables us to produce high resolution scans of each film image. All images are produced in an open format that can be viewed in any EDMS, or alternatively viewed in our own IRISEDMS.

Particular attention is given to the original film reduction ratio in order to ensure that the scanning process enables the end user to use measurement tools within their EDMS both efficiently and accurately.

Types of projects carried out to date include civil engineering drawings, bridge design, water distribution networks and planning plotting sheets both in black & white using aperture card scanners and in colour using high resolution flat bed colour scanners.
